As human beings, faces instantly conjure an impression, an emotion and even a belief. As important as a someone’s face is, I wanted to depict portraiture in non-traditional iterations.
I started creating imaginary and somewhat “unrealistic” persons that live in a world of make believe. While each one of these persons is inspired by a real time and place, their likeness is interpreted in a playful and phantasmagorical way.
